Janice Jeanette Frankum (née Hobbins), age 80, passed away on October 22, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, faith, and precious memories that will forever be cherished by those blessed enough to know her.
Janice was truly one of the kindest souls to ever walk this earth. She had a heart overflowing with compassion, a love for her family that knew no bounds, and an unwavering devotion to God that guided her throughout her life. Above all else, she loved the Lord, and her faith was the foundation upon which she built her life.
For 59 beautiful years, Janice was the beloved wife of Floyd Ray Frankum. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, built a family, and created memories that will be treasured for generations. Their marriage was a testament to a lifetime of commitment, companionship, and devotion.
Janice was the cornerstone of her family, the one who brought everyone together and made every gathering feel like home. She had an incredible passion for family celebrations, parties, and simply having the people she loved gathered around her. To Janice, family wasn't just important; it was everything.
While she had the gentlest and most loving heart, she also had a fiery spirit, especially when it came to politics! She was never afraid to speak her mind, and those who knew her knew exactly where she stood. She had a way of keeping everyone on their toes, and she always seemed to be in a hurry, no matter where she was going or what needed to be done.
And then there was her laugh. Oh, that laugh. It was the kind of laughter that filled a room, lifted spirits, and made everyone around her laugh right along with her. It was contagious, unforgettable, and uniquely hers. It is a sound her family will carry in their hearts forever.
Janice was a devoted mother, a cherished grandmother, and a treasured great-grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Floyd Ray Frankum; her son, Daniel Frankum, and his wife, Malinda Frankum; her beloved grandchildren, Erika Ashley Frankum and her husband, Josh Flores, Rachel Michelle Frankum (Thornhill) and her husband, Drew Thornhill, and Tanner Frankum; and her precious great-grandchildren, Kaleydrie Hogue, Zane David Hilborn, Jayce Shannon Daniel Flores, and Harley David Andrew Thornhill.
Janice was preceded in death by her beloved son, Shannon Gene Frankum, who passed away on May 12, 2017, and her precious great-grandson, Elijah Jo.
Though her family grieves her absence here on earth, they find comfort in the faith she held so dearly and the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. While her chair at family gatherings may now be empty, her presence will forever be felt in every celebration, every shared story, every burst of laughter, and every moment her family comes together.
Janice's greatest legacy will never be measured in possessions or accomplishments, but in the love, she poured into her family, the faith she lived by, and the countless lives made brighter simply because she was part of them.
She was the heart of her family, a woman of extraordinary kindness, fierce spirit, contagious joy, and unwavering faith.
Until we meet again in Heaven, may we honor her by loving deeply, laughing often, holding our families close, and keeping God at the center of our lives.
Forever loved. Forever cherished. Forever the heart of our family.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 21, 2026 at Faith Assembly of God Church, 4320 Mustang Road Alvin, Texas 77511.
