James Frederick Small, age 89 of Rosharon, Texas passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at HCA Healthcare Clear Lake Hospital. James was born November 9, 1932 in Huntsville, Texas and was a resident of Rosharon since 1993. He served his country in both the United States Navy and later in the Untied States Air Force. James graduated from Sam Houston University with a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and would spend 31 years teaching math in the Houston Independent School District. He was a member of South Park Baptist Church in Alvin and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. James is preceded in death by his parents, James and Cleo Small; sister, Nan Hearne; brother, Paul Small.

James is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Small; brother, Wayne Small; along with many other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Scott Funeral Home with Funeral Services beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin.
