James Byron Evans Jr., age 89 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024 at his home with family by his side. James was born July 8, 1935 in Alvin and was a lifetime resident of the area. He started farming in the late 1960's and would go on to own and operate Evans Farm and Feed for 40 years. James was loved dearly by his family and will be missed by all that knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Regina Evans Sr.; grandson, Tripp Wostal; son in law, Bobby Brown; brother, Joe Evans and sister, Winnie Blackwell.

James is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Marilyn Evans; daughters, Cheryl Evans-Trapp, Louise Evans-Wostal (Wally), Linda Brown; sons, James Evans III (Alyssa), John Evans; sister, Anita King; grandchildren, Cara Mcafee (Jonathan),  Aubrey Barricklow (Graham), Bo Bergfeld (Staci), Boone Bergfeld (Amber), Branson Bergfeld (Shelby), Regina Glaskox (John), Wendy Feldpausch (Jason), Trey Rose (Amanda), Brandee Wilkins (James), Lindsey Allen (Chad), Tabitha Garcia (Rob), Hayley Brown, Kara Stevenson (Matt), James Evans (Brandi), John Evans (Haley) and Jase Evans (Kaitlyn); 42 great grandchildren; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Pallbearers:  Kelly Evans, Trey Rose, James Evans, John Evans, Jase Evans, Gage Slaughter, Dylan Folse and Kane Allen.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Scott Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Scott Funeral Home with interment to follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin.
