James Russell Carlson, age 75 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026 at HCA Clear Hospital in Webster, Texas.  James was born June 2, 1950 in Houston, Texas and was a resident of Alvin since 1995. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 10 years, worked 20 years as a Millwright and was to say he lived in the great state of Texas. James is preceded in death by his father, William Frederick Carlson Jr.; mother, Lorraine Moreno; son in law, David Clinton Swaim, Jr.

James is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Reba Carlson; daughter, Jennifer L. Swaim; granddaughter, Rebecca M. Swaim; sisters, Sandra Cody and Tina McKinney; along with numerous extended family and friends.

A private graveside will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Confederate Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life reception will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at the Dickinson VFW Hall 5204 Hwy.3 Dickinson, TX. 77539.
