James Malcomb Berry, age 77 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024 peacefully at his home.  James was born January 15, 1947 in Alvin, Texas, and was a lifelong resident of Alvin. He worked as pipefitter in the refineries and proudly served his country in the United States Army throughout the Vietnam War. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Zella Mae Berry; and sister, Becky Berry.

James is survived by his wife, Felicia Sellitto; daughters, Julie Groce and husband Bill, Sylvia Berry; step sons, J.T. Merryman, and Terry Merryman and wife Allison Day; sisters, Joan Twilley and husband Jimmy, Janice and husband Zack; brother Roger Berry; grandchildren, Jared Groce, T.J. Berry, Lakklynn Diaz, Anna Berry, Morgan Merryman and Courtney Merryman; and various great grandchildren; along with numerous extended family and friends.

James was an incredibly loyal man who always put his family first. In his leisure time, he delighted in fishing, watching old western shows, and spending time with his loved ones. He had an immense love for motorcycles, eagles, and Hostess Cupcakes. His time in Vietnam shaped him into a strong-willed, compassionate, lionhearted man who will never be forgotten.

A Memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Scott Funeral Home.
