Lifetime Alvin resident, Jacqueline "Jackie" Ware Abney, age 81, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Jackie was born December 12, 1940 in Webster, Texas. She retired from Alvin Community College after 40 years of service where she found great joy in serving the students and treasured the lifelong friendships she made.

Everyone who knew Jackie remembers her as a kind and gentle woman who always had a warm and welcoming smile. She was a member of Living Faith Outreach Church in Dickinson, Texas. Jackie was best known for her steadfast love of the Lord. She is preceded in death by her parents, Amon and Eva Jane Ware.

Jackie is survived by her husband, James Abney, daughters Cindy deJongh and husband Stephen, Cathy Norre and husband Mike, Sandy Abney, brother, Amon Ware Jr. and wife Jimmie, sisters-in-law Jeanne Bodine, Sandra Thiem, and Doris Abney, 5 grandchildren; Sarah, Patrick, Jacob, Adam, and Blake, 4 great-grandchildren; Anthony, Brooklyn, Adalyn, and Liam.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022, at the Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
