Herman Marvin Atchison "Slick", of Rosharon Texas passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023.

He was born October 12, 1936 in Ponca City, Oklahoma and was a longtime resident of Brazoria County.

He spent a lifetime of public service; He served in the United States Army. Houston Fire Department

for 30 years, part of which in the Arson division; Brazoria County Sheriff's Office, 12 years. He served as

Brazoria County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, and as Judge for the City of Iowa Colony.

Slick was a cowboy. Whether it was penning cattle, competing in the rodeo arena, or even in later

years reading about cowboys, it was his passion.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Burl and Esther Atchison; brothers, Lexus Atchison, Lonnie

Atchison and Jimmie Atchison; Sisters, Evelyn Atchison-Cooper and Norma Atchison.

Slick is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Wanda Atchison, two sisters; Carmeletta Collins,

and Glenda Chaney, sons; Marvin Atchison and wife Marshelle. Terry Atchison and wife Roxann. Lee

Atchison and wife Kim. Grandchildren; Paige Riseling and husband Jonah, Madison Atchison and

husband Joshua, McKay Atchison, Megan Kenney and husband Shane, Corey Atchison, Tyler McBride

and wife Jessica. Great-grandchildren; Peyton McBride, Parker McBride, Bly Evette Riseling and Hayden

Grace Kenney, as well as numerous nieces and nephews along with extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM Monday January 30, 2023 at Scott Funeral Home in

Alvin, Texas. A private service will be at Manvel Cemetery in Manvel, Texas.
