Henrietta Louise Meyer, age 81, passed away peacefully Friday, April 29, 2022 at her home. Henrietta was born September 25, 1940 in New Braunfels, Texas.  As the daughter of a church Minister, she grew up residing all over the country including stops in St. Louis, Cleveland, and Chicago.  Henrietta's family moved to Needville, Texas for her last two years of high school.  There, while nicknamed "Rita," she met the love pf her life, Wayne.  They married in 1960, soon moved to Houston and within four years had three children.  Henrietta and Wayne moved the family to Alvin, Texas in 1970, into the home she resided until death.  She worked as an office manager in an Orthodontist office for many years and excelled as a homemaker, taking care of her family.  Henrietta was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Alvin and was an active volunteer at The Gathering Place until her health declined.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Meyer; parents, Edwin and Henrietta Berger; sister, Ruth Strathern; brothers, Dr. Charles Berger and James Berger.

Henrietta is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Mayfield and husband James, Sandra Dubose and husband Todd; son, Karl Meyer and wife Margaret; grandchildren, Adrienne Robinson and husband Anthony, Joshua Dubose and wife Leigh Ann, Meredith Dubose, Gabriel Mayfield and Gabrielle Garcia; great grandchild, Mateo Mayfield; sister, Phyllis Smith; along with numerous other relatives and friends.  Henrietta left a trail of care and loving kindness.  She took great interest in the well being of others.  Henrietta's love for Wayne across their 57-year marriage and her care for him in the late stages of his life are an inspiration to all who witnessed.  She will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 9:30 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. with a Memorial Service beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church of Alvin, (302 South Johnson Street Alvin, Texas 77511). Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin.
