George Leslie Oliver, age 84 of League City, Texas passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 in Alvin, Texas. George was born April 29, 1938 in Anco, Kentucky and was a resident of the Alvin/Manvel area since 1958. He attended First Baptist Church of Manvel and worked as a production planner retiring from Wyatt Field Services. George enjoyed talking about anything Kentucky and specifically his alma matter Car Creek High school which he considered the birthplace of basketball including its 1928 national tournament run and its 1956 state championship.  He created a genealogy tree that consist of over 70,000 family relatives and did not mind telling you about it.  He enjoyed playing dominoes and insured you followed the rules unless you were a grandchild.  He liked hot dogs, cornbread and pickled bologna.  He did not like potato skins, snakes and most importantly "Look Out!" (family recognizes this one). He mostly enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren's events and extracurricular activities. He rarely missed an event watching his grandkids in the rain, heat or freezing temperatures. George was proud of his family and he would lovingly tell you about them even if you were a stranger.

George is preceded in death by his wife, Winnifred (Winnie Obrian) Oliver; parents, Leslie and Sarah Oliver; sisters, Yvonne Collins and Lovetta Griggs; brothers, James E. Oliver and Daryl Oliver.

George is survived by his sons, Kenneth Oliver and wife Kathy, Keith Oliver and wife Deanna; sister, Mary Smith; brother, Charles Oliver; grandchildren, Eric Oliver and wife Lori, Erin Schmidt and husband Hunter, Caleb Oliver and wife Lauren, Trinity Oliver; great grandchildren, Payton, Hudson, Luke, Dalton and Owen; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

A private family celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
