On May 8, 2025, Francoise DeWitt lost her brave battle to a rare form of cancer.  She is missed by her husband Jim DeWitt and many friends, co-workers and family.

Born in Quebec, Canada, her French-Canadian heritage was shown in her beautiful blue eyes and her long dark hair.

Her work life was as an accountant for University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and later in other businesses.

Fran's adventurous spirit led her and Jim on many wonderful trips in their RV. They were always happy to return to their home in Dickinson where Fran and Jim had created a beautiful oasis of home, pool and garden. There they liked to rest after work and occasionally entertain friends. Fran's lively zest for life and friendship made everyone feel at home.

Fran's compassion and respect for life led her to be the adoptive mother of many rescue animals. They led a joyous life thanks to her care and affection.

Jim suggests a donation to the SPCA in her name if you would like to honor her memory. Or better still, you could follow her example and adopt a rescue.

On August 8 at 2:00 PM there will be a remembrance of Fran at Scott Funeral Home, East Highway 6, Alvin Texas.
