Ernest Meza, age 90 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023. Ernest was born in Alvin on November 11, 1932 and was a lifetime resident. After graduating high school, he was enlisted in the Army, soon after he worked for Pan Am Airways for 27 years. Once he retired from Pan Am, he became a cabinet maker for 10 plus years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, he always had a huge smile when his great grandchildren were around, he enjoyed working in his yard, gardening was his joy. Ernest is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Magdelena Meza, 2 brothers and 6 sisters, son-in-law James Watkins, son Johnny Carmona II, and longtime close family friend Dale Oskerson.

Ernest is survived by his wife, Antonia Meza; daughters Josie Villaloboz and husband Juan Briceno, and Sandra Watkins; Sons Ralph Meza and wife Debbie, and Abel Meza; sister Mary Alice Vega; brothers Benny Meza and wife Lupe , and Charlie Meza; grandchildren, Keith, Andrew, Laura, Johnny III, Sonny James, Brandon, Wes, Tristyn, Taylor, and Trenace, as well as 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Scott Funeral Home with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Scott Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the City of Alvin Oak Park Cemetery.
