Elaine Bissey, age 63 of Alvin, Texas passed away June 17th, 2023 surrounded by loved ones, as her three children held her hand and sent her to reunite with her beloved "Old Man" and husband, Earl.

Elaine was born July 18th, 1959 in Palacios, Tx. to James Allen Hart and Betty Jean Hart (Blackwell). On September 1st, 1978, Elaine married the love of her life Roscoe "Earl" Bissey. Together they shared 39 long years of marriage, three children, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Elaine held so many names, titles, and roles. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandma, mother-in-law, great grandma, and friend. Her names were endless… Earl's "Old Lady", Mom, Momma, or "Hazel" as only her son was allowed to call her, Aunt Elaine, Grandma, Gramma, G-Ma, and Maw, just to name a few.

Elaine loved fiercely, sometimes to a fault, but that wouldn't stop her. She stood by her words when she would say "Family is everything" and she preached it often. She loved to tell stories of her family that passed before her, family who she hadn't seen in a while, ones of her and Earl in their early stages, and she loved reminiscing on memories of her children and grandchildren. Elaine was a caregiver and what seems like a mom or grandma to all, blood related or not. Anyone who knew her will most likely tell you she cared for them or took them in at some point in their lives, which shows who she really was, she never turned anyone away and always welcomed them with open arms and made space for them. Although she may have done all of the above and had the biggest heart, she may have hollered at you a time or two in the process or swatted you with a spatula or anything she had in her hand… To say she was quite the hard headed, strong, stubborn soul would be an understatement, and boy did she always have to be right! She also overcame so very much and so many obstacles in her 63 full years of life. She was a Bissey, a fighter, and every time something would knock her down she'd get back up.

Lastly, being a wife, mother, grandmother/great grandmother were her most cherished titles. There was nothing she loved more than getting all of the people she loved the most together. She loved them all through thick and thin, at their worst and best… But if there were ever a light that shined brightest in Elaine Bissey's face, it was because of her grandchildren. They quite literally lit up her life and she doted on them constantly and was so proud of them. She fought for so long to be able to soak up as many moments with her family as she could, because remember "Family is everything". Those memories and the impact she left on all of our lives, will be forever remembered and bring us comfort in our journey ahead. Our greatest peace is knowing she is reunited with her love, Earl and they are happily together again, watching over us all.

Elaine is preceded in death by her husband, Earl; parents, Betty & James Hart; brothers, Wesley Hart, Jimmy Alexander, Eddie Alexander, Joe Hart; and son-in-law, Eric Scarborough.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Bissey and wife, Kristy; daughters, Mindy Scarborough and Jessica Bissey; brother, Tommy Hart; grandchildren, Bradly, Riley, Chance, Matthew, Novalee, Jaylynne, Payton, Ayden; great grandchildren, Avlynn, Jaxon; numerous loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
