OBITUARY FOR EDNA ROBERTA HAWKINS GLENN LAMBERT

December 25, 1926 – April 1, 2025

Edna Roberta Glenn Lambert was born to Walter and Littie Hawkins on December 25, 1926 in Livermore, Kentucky. She took her long awaited flight to join her heavenly father on April 1, 2025, at the age of 98. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was married to Arvad Glenn in Detroit, Michigan on June 21, 1946, and together they had three children; Ivorie, Arvadia and Lindall. Later in life she was married to Fred Lambert on September 4, 2004, in Alvin, Tx.

She received her State Board of Cosmetology license in Lansing, Michigan on October 17, 1960 and gave many women in the church their first haircut. After moving with her husband to Little Rock, Arkansas to attend seminary, she purchased her own salon.

After some years in ministry, they moved to take the pastorate of a church in Anderson, Indiana. While there, she served as a Hospital Ward Clerk of Community Hospital.

She was Baptist in Faith and the oldest member of Alvin Missionary Baptist Church. She had been a resident of Alvin, Tx since 1991.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Arvad Glenn, husband, Fred Lambert, son, Lindall Glenn, son in law, Darrell Streeter, one sister, Barbara Bean and one brother, Radney, step-sons, David and Larry Lambert, and step-daughter, Deborah Lambert.

She is survived by her daughters: Ivorie Glenn Streeter, Arvadia Glenn Oglesby and husband Bob, all of Alvin; 5 grandchildren, Randall Streeter (Monica), Tonya Allen (Randall), Karla Wilson (Kelley), Kristin Bender and Harley Oglesby. 8 great-grandchildren, Michael (Leah), James (Laci), Cole, Baylon, Lauren, Payton, Tori and Jarrett (Shelby), and 4 great, great grandchildren, James, Walker, Angelo, & Rhyder. She is also survived by a daughter in law, Judith Walton and great granddaughter, Brook, and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Our appreciation goes to the staff of Harbor Hospice, Nurse Debbie, and CNA Meagan, for their extra special care.

Viewing will be April 7, 2025, 6-8PM and Funeral service, April 8, 2025 at 11AM at Alvin Missionary Baptist Church, 2102 W Lang St., Alvin, Tx, by Pastor Justin Gatlin. Interment will be at Oak Park Cemetery, Alvin, Tx. Her Pallbearers will be Michael Heath, James Streeter, Cole Streeter, Baylon Opre, Payton Opre, and Jarrett Allen.
