Edna Anita Avitts, age 97 of Alvin, Texas passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at UTMB Clear Lake Hospital with her family by her side. Edna was born March 19, 1925 in Houston, Texas and was a resident of Alvin for over 70 years. She took great pride in taking care of her family and was in fact the "glue" that held us and all the pieces together. She was a life long member of the Church of The Nazarene in Alvin. Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Avitts Sr.; grandparents, Francis P. and Estelle O'Connor; parents, William and Eva Bock; sisters, Ethel Sheffield and Willie Alford; brothers, W. Burnett Bock and Joe Lee Bock.

Edna is survived by her daughters, Arleen Smith and Elaine Wade; sons, Robert S. Avitts Jr. (Nanette) and Mark Avitts; sister in law, Ginger Bock; 12 grandchildren, Rebecca Vernier (Steve), Michael Smith (Belinda), Randy Smith (Tam), Jeff Smith (Katherine), Darrin Wade (Shalea), Kevin Wade (Kristin), Janna Knebel (Scott), Nicole Jackson, Paul Dorough, Terry Lynn Avitts (fiancé Ricky Paiz), Kelly Brown (Gary), Amanda Haynes (Sean); 25 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchild and 1 on the way; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
