Dwight L. Hiles Sr., 91, of Alvin, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, at 12:01 a.m., surrounded by the love of his family. Born in 1934, Dwight proudly served his country in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4). He exemplified the values of service, discipline, and quiet strength that would remain with him throughout his life. After his military service, Dwight worked for many years as a skilled diesel mechanic and truck driver a hard-working man who provided for his family with dedication and pride. He was a loving father to his sons Dwight, Clifford, Joseph, and Michael, and his daughters Virginia and Shelly. His family remembers him as a steady, dependable presence, full of wisdom, gentle humor, and strength. Dwight had a deep fondness for classic Westerns, and John Wayne was his favorite actor. He spent many peaceful hours watching his favorite movies and working on word search puzzles, always enjoying the quiet pleasures of life. A proud veteran, father, and friend, Dwight's legacy is one of honor, hard work, and quiet resilience. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. Final arrangements will be shared with family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in Dwight's memory or donations to a veterans' organization of your choice. Rest in peace, SP4 Dwight L. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Tx.  A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Houston National Cemetery.
