Dorothy Coe-Strausz, age 85 of Alvin, Texas, peacefully passed into the presence of her Savior on Thursday, June 11, 2026, after a long battle with leukemia and lymphoma. As the matriarch of the family, she was deeply cherished by her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was born July 8, 1940, in Hobbs, New Mexico and was a longtime resident of Alvin. She owned and operated her own furniture upholstery and custom drapery business and took great pride in raising her family. Dorothy is preceded in death by her first husband of 47 years, Jack Coe; parents, James Sr. and Vernice Singleton; brothers, James Singleton, Jr. and Dale Singleton; and grandson, Dylan Coe.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 17 years, Ed Strausz; daughters, Laura Johnson (Keith), Amanda McLeod (Gary), Donna George (Michael); son, Dudley Coe (Jennifer); step daughter, Stephanie Berry (Bruce); step sons, Michael Strausz (Debbie), Brad Strausz, Greg Strausz (Lisa); 12 grandchildren, Tim (Katie), Taylor, Tracey (Michael), Trisha (Austin), Steven (Jordan), Kyle (Angel), Jonathan (Maggie), Julia, Jenae, Jordan (Dean), Sydney (Donovan) and Avery; 16 great grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; along with numerous extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, July 3, 2026, at Scott Funeral Home. A private family interment will be held earlier that morning.
