Doris Inez Carlisle, age 94 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024.  Doris was born January 21, 1929, in Rusk, Texas, and was a long-time resident of Texas City, Tx., before becoming a member of the Alvin community for 37 years. She was Christian by faith and spent many years as a volunteer for the Are You OK program under the Alvin Police Department that helped the handicap and senior shut ins.  Doris is preceded in death by her husband, George Carlisle; stepchildren Gene and Nancy Carlisle; parents Jewell and Pless Langston; brothers, J.W Langston, Willy Ray Langston; sisters Mae Work, Lucille Jennings, Oma Lee Bobbitt, Ruby Pearl Bingham, Mildred Ruckman, Cassy Langston, Otis Lloyd.

Doris is survived by her stepchildren Ann Ward, Gloria Smith, John and Melody Carlisle, Mike and Barbara Carlisle, Robert Carlisle, Nephew James Daniels, Wayne Lloyd, Niece Melvita Carlisle, along with other numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Scott Funeral Home, with a funeral service starting at 11:00 AM. Interment to be at Confederate Cemetery following services.
