Dominic Gutierrez Sr., age 58 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at Southeast Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas.  Dominic was born November 16, 1966 in Alvin, Texas and was a lifetime resident. He worked construction as an ironworker/rod buster and attended St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin.

Dominic was truly one of a kind!  To meet a man with a larger heart than his, would be hard to come by.  Dominic never met a stranger.  He helped those in need his entire life; whether it be donating to different organizations, offering shelter to those less fortunate or bringing people home for the holidays, who had no family, there was not a selfish bone in his body. Dominic loved & adored his wife, Maria.  Though there was a language barrier between them; Dominic always said 'love is the universal language'; and throughout their years together, they learned each other's native language.  Maria was his backbone during the last few weeks of his life, never leaving his side.  Above all these, his greatest and most rewarding accomplishment was that of being a father. Dominic worked tirelessly to ensure his children were raised in a happy home, that was filled with love.  With a healthy balance of discipline and unconditional love, Dominic was an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING father, instilling respect, kindness and love into each one of his children. Dominic's absence is incomprehensible & a loss that is truly unmeasurable.

Dominic is survived by his wife, Maria Gutierrez; parents, Diego and Lupe Gutierrez Sr.; daughters, Brandy Gutierrez, Genevieve Gutierrez, Cheyenne Gutierrez and Veronica Lara; sons, Dominic Gutierrez Jr., Nathan Gutierrez, Justin Gutierrez, Daniel Gutierrez, Dylan Gutierrez, Alex Hernandez and Alfredo Lara; sisters, Melinda Limones and Dorrie Ramirez; brothers, Diego Gutierrez Jr., Anthony Gutierrez and Gabriel Gutierrez; grandchildren, Madison Elizabeth Gutierrez, Makayla Faith Gutierrez, Mariah Annette Gutierrez, Alyssa Makenzie Gutierrez, Janessa Leigh Gutierrez, Aubriana Grace Gutierrez, Justin Lee Gutierrez II, Broncs Wyatt Gutierrez, Ace Jessiah Gutierrez, Charlie Wade Gutierrez, Faith Elizabeth Gutierrez, Jaiden Mary Vitales, Jeremy Xavier Vitales, Antoine Touch, Devin Touch, Gia Malana Touch, Alton James Touch & Roseanna Mae Gutierrez; along with numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Monday, January 20, 2025 at Scott Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Alvin.
