Dennis Fred Poalero, age 75 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.  Dennis was born April 22, 1951 in Rome, New York and was a longtime resident of Alvin. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Dennis is preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Poalero; parents, Johnie and Josephine Key; brother, Gerry Key.

Dennis is survived by his fiancé of 5 years, Barbara Self; daughters, Gina Poalero and Sherry Skelton; son, Michael Skelton; sisters, Cindy Cagle, Linda Minton and Pamela Gertson; brother, Jamie Key; grandchildren, Taylor Vernon, Sidney Wagnon, Rhiannon Skelton and Ashlea Skelton; great grandchild, Callum Vernon along with numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Monday, June 29, 2026 with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin.
