Delores "Lori" Ann Sims, "Mamaw", of Alvin, Texas, passed away peacefully June 6, 2024 at the age of 80 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Lori was born December 17, 1943, in Denison, Texas, and was a member of the Alvin community for 11 years. Lori met her husband Otis in 1959 and they married January 21, 1961, at the ages of 17 and 19. They remained marred for 63 years. In their younger years Lori and Otis enjoyed traveling, fishing and dancing. They had one child, Michele, whom they loved very much. She was also a lifetime member of the Eastern Star Durant Chapter.

Lori enjoyed watching the Astros, volunteering and attending the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo along with her husband, daughter and granddaughter. She volunteered until her health no longer allowed her to. She love spoiling her dog Sadie who probably ate better than she did. Family gatherings were very important to her, and she loved to host her family for holidays, birthdays and family dinners.

Lori is survived by her husband Otis Sims; daughter Michele Goodnight and husband Jesse; Grandchildren; Kassie Strayer and husband Jesse, Jesse Goodnight III and girlfriend Laurie Kenyon; Great grandchildren; Koltin, Karson and Jessalynn Strayer. Lori is also survived by in-laws Mike and Sue Sims, Brenda Sims Gillespie, Carl and Linda Bailey as well as numerous nieces, great nieces and nephews.
