Lorrie Lamm, age 84 of Alvin, TX, passed away June 11, 2024, in Alvin, TX. Lorrie was born on July 1, 1939, in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband Hallet Harrison Lamm, Sr., parents, Malcolm Fitts and Barbara Stepenoff, son, Randy Lamm

Lorrie is survived by her daughters, Robin Branham and husband Richard, Toni Lamm Warr and Mark Warr, sons, Hallet Lamm Jr. and Kerry, Jeff Lamm, grandchildren Zac, Miah, Kaylan, Daniel, Cody, Sabbrina, Josh, Jared, Jillian, great-grandchildren, Addison, Evie, Milo, Kendyl, Grayson, Bristol, Krew, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Lorrie was a wife of 54 years to the love of her life and a stay-at-home mother to her 5 children. As well as a loving grandmother and great grandmother. She had many interests and hobbies. To name a few, she loved gardening, bowling, and softball in her younger years. Lorrie was an avid reader throughout her life. Her love for a vivid and colorful story combined with her creative talents lead her to becoming the author of several short stories. A few of her pieces were published in Reader's Digest and the Houston Chronicle.

Lorrie received her driver's license in 1984 for the first time, which was solely achieved through bravery and sheer determination. Her motivation was ignited by her drive to become Avon's top seller. She started off on foot door to door. As her customer base grew she knew she had to obtain that plastic rite of passage, her driver's license. Shortly after, Lorrie became a top seller for Avon. Her bravery and determination paid off.

Lorrie continued her journey of accolades by completing her GED and then onto graduating with her associate's degree at Alvin Community College. Lorrie then went on to the University of Houston-Clear Lake, where she graduated magna cum laude with her bachelor's degree.

She continued into her Master's program when she was quickly offered the position to teach English. Lorrie decided to fully transition gears, and applied all her focus, energy and time into becoming the best educator she could be.

Lorrie began teaching at A.I.S.D (high school)  in 1991, she taught Pre-AP English for nine years and then she switched to English her tenth year. She made the tough decision to retire her teaching career in 2001 in order to care for her husband.

Lorrie had a propitious spirit. She was a brave, tenacious woman. Despite countless challenges of fearful endeavors, she accomplished so much on her journey called life, Love you Mom/Grandma.

A memorial visitation will be from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Scott Funeral Home.
