Delia Maria Nolte, 88, of Dickinson, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. She was born on March 21, 1938, in Aguadulce, in the province of Coclé, Panama. After spending 70 years in Panama, Delia moved to Dickinson with her husband, Al, where they made their home for the past 18 years. Delia earned her teaching degree at the age of 20 and went on to serve as both an educator and a principal for 25 years. She also taught Spanish to soldiers and their spouses in Panama, and during Operation Just Cause she and her husband opened their home to those living in tents so they could enjoy a hot shower, a homemade meal, and warm conversation. She was known for her generosity and compassion. Throughout her life, Delia rescued and cared for many dogs and cats and loved all animals dearly. She had a gift for gardening and could revive even the most neglected plant. She devoted much of her time to those in need. A devout Catholic, she faithfully attended Mass on the first Friday of every month. Delia enjoyed making handmade ceramics, especially beautiful hand‑molded rose bouquets that she spent hours creating and selling as a hobby during her years in Panama. She also cherished time with her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.

Delia was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Nolte; her parents, Sergio and Josefa Rengifo; her sisters, Mercedes and Guillermina; her brothers, Enrique, Augusto, Juaquin, and Sergio "Tello"; and her grandson, Jonathan Huwe.

She is survived by her son, Sergio Nolte, and his wife, Jolene; her daughters, Fulvia Shaw and her husband, Brent, Anne Nolte, and Khristine Farmer and her husband, Alan; her sisters, Enma, Nydia, and Natividad, and her brother, Baltazar. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Selena Nolte Pappas and her husband, Alex, Leticia Nolte, Skyler Nolte, James Huwe, Braeden Shaw, Dylan Farmer, and Devyn Farmer.

A Catholic Mass, the Rite of Christian Funeral, will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church (inside the chapel), 300 FM 517 Rd E, Dickinson, Texas. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM.
