Delia Rodriguez Montemayor passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the age of 81. Born in New Gulf, Texas, on August 8, 1943, Delia made Alvin her home for the past 65 years. She is now reunited in spirit with her beloved parents, Robert Rodriguez and Maria Driscoll Rodriguez, along with her sister, Andie Solis; her brother, Mario Rodriguez; and the father of her two children, Larry Gilbert Montemayor.

She had a remarkable gift for connecting with others, touching the lives of everyone she met—be it a waitress, bank teller, or grocery store clerk. Delia was the heart of our family, and her unwavering love and support have made a lasting impact on all of us. Her strength, sociability, and charm were truly remarkable, and she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Delia graduated from Boling High School in 1962 and continued her education at Southwestern Business College in Houston, where she graduated in 1964. After a fulfilling 35-year career at Sears, where she became known for her incredible sales achievements in the home appliance department, she happily transitioned into retirement. In this new chapter of her life, she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren watching their sports and extracurricular activities throughout their life. Delia also found joy in the thrill of playing slot machines at the casinos and was an avid supporter of her beloved Astros, never missing a game. She was ecstatic when they won their two world championships.

She leaves behind her two wonderful sons, Larry Montemayor and Russell Montemayor, and wife, Heather. Delia is also survived by her loving sister, Stella Rodriguez along with five adored grandchildren: Megan, Shae, Ali, Leah, and Seth Montemayor; two step-grandchildren, Julian Baez and Mia Navarro; and her great-grandchild, Jacob Smith. Additionally, her aunt Alice Yanez, who was like a sister to her, and many other relatives and friends mourn her loss. Delia's legacy of love and kindness will continue to resonate in our hearts. She will be missed more than words can express.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Texas. Funeral services will begin at noon, followed by interment at the City of Alvin Oak Park Cemetery.
