Deborah Joy Stockton, age 67, of Houston, Texas, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022, in Galveston, Texas. Deborah was born May 4, 1955, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and was a resident of Santa Fe for 17 years. Debbie graduated from Pearl McLaurin High School in 1973 and then attended a Hinds Junior College and was in the vocational- tech school.  She earned a respiratory therapist degree. Then went on to be the assistant director of Respiratory Therapy at Mississippi Methodist Rehabilitation Center. Debbie met the love of her life, Adrian in 1981.  They got married in 1982 and went on to raise 4 children together. Debbie worked as a respiratory therapist in the Houston Medical Center, and later went on to work most of her career at UTMB in Galveston. She also taught respiratory therapy classes at Alvin Community College. She retired in 2010.

Debbie had such a kind heart, was so genuine, and always listened and gave advice to people she cared for. She loved taking care of her family and spending time with them.  She also loved to cook and bake for them, and boy was she good at it! She loved reading and cross stitching. She was a loving wife, and mother. She also adored her 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Deborah is preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Stockton Jr.; parents James and Joy Stutts; and great-grandchild Ander Brown.

Debbie is survived by her daughter, Amanda Stockton; sons Jason Stockton and daughter in-law Sara Stockton, Justin Stockton, and Jonathan Stockton; sister Kathy Newcomb and husband Paul; brothers Billy Stutts and wife Tina, Randy Stutts and wife Loraine, and Doug Stutts; grandchildren Taylor Brown, Kaitlyn Buckley, Jewel Moore, and Madison Stockton; great-grandchildren Kamryn Buckley, Avan Brown, and Alden Brown.

Services will be held at Scott's Funeral Home in Alvin Texas on Thursday, September 1 ^st at 6pm. We will have a short memorial service, and time to visit with family and friends.

The family would like to thank the nurse and surgical teams at Jennie Sealy Hospital for their compassionate care during Debbie's multiple hospital stays. They'd also like to thank all of the family and friends for their support and prayers.
