Darrell De Bryant, foodie, epic storyteller, and expert grilled cheese maker, was called home to our Lord Monday evening, June 13th, at the age of 63 while in the midst of one of his favorite pastimes; Sleeping.

Born in Harris County, Texas on May 2, 1959 to Mollie Sue and Eddie Bryant, Darrell was an unique, caring, and mildly obnoxious individual to all who knew him.

Although we have our suspicions that he *may* not have been on the same stealth level of Jason Bourne as his stories would have liked us to believe, he was in fact a proud veteran of the US Army. He spent most of his life working in auto/ farm part sales, and he was excellent at it. He loved God, and loved to: fish, tell stories (the same stories, repeatedly, most involving people we never/ will never know), dote on his grandchildren (he was the King of making perfect, fluffy, pancakes!), drink Cherry 7UP, take trips to Vegas, walk every aisle of the grocery store even when he only needed one thing, make plans for when he was going to hit it big and win the lottery, and eat food. In fact when told he had diabetes and needed to change his diet he told his Dr to "shove it" and promptly hightailed it to his favorite mexican food restaurant.

He is preceded in death by; his mother Mollie Sue, and father Eddie Morris Bryant, brothers; Jimmy Bryant, Morris Bryant, Dean Bryant, and Charley Bryant, his sister Robbie Kay Bryant-Beyerlein, and his nephew Morris Kade Bryant. The domino games taking place as we speak are epic, I have no doubt.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Pamela Lee Bryant. "They said we'd only make it 6 weeks!" He'd say proudly while beaming at her. A girl dad before it was cool, he is also survived by his children; Jennifer and her husband Mike Bowers of La Marque, TX,  Deana and her husband Clay Buelow of Oak Harbor, WA, and Kathryn and her husband Jeremy Moore of Alvin, TX, as well as the son he wished he'd had, so he went and found Robert Russel and his wife Jennene of Alvin, TX. His true pride and joy, his grandchildren; Caden Bowers, Morrigan Bowers, Olivia Buelow, and Grant Buelow. He's also survived by a shitload of nieces and nephews, although he only liked a few of you so to save feelings I won't list the few he would have claimed.

Much to my dad's chagrin, since none of his kids would take the hint to let him and mom move in with us, he has more or less spent his adult life as a resident of Alvin, TX. His celebration of life will be private for only his immediate family and closest friends. He was here. He was loved. He will be so missed. We feel incredibly blessed that he was ours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his honor to The Diabetes Research Foundation (DRI).
