Cynthia Ann Rivas Rivera, age 58, of Alvin,Tx, passed away on Tuesday, October 7,2025 in Houston, Tx surrounded by her loving family.

Cynthia was born on April 10,1967, in Galveston, Tx, and was a longtime resident of Alvin. To her family and friends Cynthia was called Cindy. Cindy will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She cherished her family and friends and truly lived life to the fullest. Cindy enjoyed talking on the phone with loved ones, fishing, scraping, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Cindy had a unique sense of humor and a joyful spirit that will be greatly missed. She fought a good fight and is now at peace. Cindy will live forever in our hearts and memories.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Rivera III; sons, Ruben and Robby Maldonado; father, Ramon M Rivas; nephew Jacob Garibay, Tio, Jose Rivas Sr.; Tias, Juanita Garcia and Belia Castaneda; grandparents, Mercedes and Francisca Huizar and Gregorio and Casimira Rivas and numerous other relatives.

Cynthia is survived by her mother, Carmen Rivas; daughters, Crystal Rivas and Ruby Rodriguez and husband Ricky; sisters, Mary Ann Martinez and husband Mauricio, Dolores Wright and husband Russell , and Zelma Salinas and husband Tito Jr; brothers, Ramon Rivas and wife Celia and Ray Rivas and wife Juanita; her 7 beloved grandchildren, Marcus, Thomas, Marisa, Emily, Maricela, Alonzo and Jordan; as well as numerous Tios, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Cynthia will be remembered for her love, laughter and the warmth she brought into every life she touched.

A visitation will be held Saturday, October 18,2025 from 5:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Tx. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 10:00a.m. at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin,Tx.
