Connie (Consuelo) Cordova Valdez, age 101, peacefully passed away the morning of March 31st at her home in Alvin, Texas surrounded by her family.  Connie was born on January 13, 1925 in Houston, Texas and was a lifetime resident of Alvin, Texas. Connie worked at Five and Dime Stores in Alvin in her early years and later at the Mexican Village and Valley Café.  Connie attended Alvin High School. She was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court 2073.

She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene (Eugenio) Valdez, parents Nicolas and Ines Mireles Cordova, sisters Jessie Almanza and Alta Gonzales, brother Joe Cordova and daughter-in-law Victoria Garcia.

Connie is survived by her daughter, Rhonda (Valdez) Navarro and husband Jody Navarro and her son Larry Garcia. Grandchildren are Brandon Navarro and wife Reyna, Patrick Navarro and wife Melissa, Leslie Gutierrez and husband Michael, Leah Galindo and husband Desi, Rodney Garcia and wife Crystal, Melody DiPasca and husband Verne. Great grandchildren are Jadrien Rodriguez, Aria Navarro, Jensen Navarro, Kennedy Navarro, Bradley Gutierrez, Rylan Gutierrez, Kinsley Gutierrez, Devin Garcia, Micah Galindo, Demi Galindo, Bethaney Garcia, Gracie Garcia, Giovanni DiPasca and Juan DiPasca along with numerous extended family, nephews, nieces and friends.

Connie was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. Connie had a passion for shopping and collecting family photos/albums, loved music and always enjoyed speaking with family and friends.  She enjoyed working in the yard with her plants and loved her azaleas.  In her early years she enjoyed attending dances with her beloved husband Eugene.

Pallbearers are Brandon Navarro, Patrick Navarro, Michael Gutierrez, Jadrien Rodriquez, Devin Garcia, Micah Galindo and Rodney Garcia.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Father John Taosan, Dr. Pamela Dugano-Daphnis and staff, Enhabit Home Health, Leslie Gutierrez, Janessa Fulcher, Spectrum Hospice, the Catholic Daughters of America, Court 2073, Scott Funeral Home for their loving care.

Visitation: Saturday April 11, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 110 E South Street in Alvin, Texas at 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM, Rosary recited at 9:30 AM with the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow afterwards at Oak Park Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Catholic Daughters of America, Court 2073.
