Collins Floyd Riley Jr. of Alvin, age 59, passed away January 17, 2022, in Friendswood. He was born to Collins Floyd Riley, Sr., and Eunice G. Riley in Houston on January 9, 1963.Floyd attended Alvin High School and was an Alvin resident for 45 years. Floyd had worked several jobs throughout his lifetime, but he truly enjoyed Lawn Maintenance and was employed with Manor Maintenance at the time of his passing.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents, father, Collins F. Riley, Sr., brother, Richard Keith Black and nephew, John D. Taylor, Jr.

He chose to work outside, he loved being outside! He was a hard worker. He worked for the family business delivering pastries until the retirement of Collins Riley, Sr. He then went into lawn maintenance and had worked in that field for the last 20 years.

He is survived by his mother, Eunice (Jane) Riley and his sister Collette Taylor and brother-in-law John Taylor. Although Floyd had no children of his own he loved his niece, Mellissa Fleming (Alvin) and nephews, Eric Black (Houston) and John Taylor Jr.(Alvin).  He loved his great-niece, Robin Powell (League City) and great-nephews, Tristan Taylor and wife, Willow (Manvel), Taylor Fleming and Ryllen Powell (Alvin), Robert Black (Houston). He was so excited to have welcomed great-great nephew, Luke and great-great niece, Tierney into our family in the last couple of years.

Floyd loved to attend family gatherings and holidays. He loved his mother, his family, food, motorcycles and his cats. Floyd had many friends, and his contagious smile and sense of humor will truly be missed.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 6, 2022, from 1 to 2 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home.

In lieu of wreaths or sprays the family requests potted plants or flowers.
