Clarence William Johns, son of the late William Harvey Johns and Mildred Holcombe Johns, was born on April 9, 1940, in Alvin, Texas. He was a life-long resident of the Manvel/Pearland area. Growing up he attended Manvel Elementary School and graduated from Pearland High School in 1958.

On August 28, 1958, Clarence married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Howard. They were blessed with two children, David Marcus and Carol Lynn. Marilyn and Clarence spent 56 wonderful years together.

Clarence worked for Witco Chemical Company, retiring after 30 years of employment.

He received his pilot's license in his late thirties, hosted epic crawfish boils and would travel across the States to attend his favorite Bluegrass Festivals. Clarence (Marilyn) loved to see the world and shared many wonderful travels with their closest friends. He loved his family and was the best "Papaw" to his grandchildren and his great granddaughter who he affectionately called "Little Red".

At a young age, Clarence professed his faith in Jesus Christ. Throughout his life, he loved to volunteer at the church. He faithfully took his grandchildren every Wednesday night to youth group (always followed by a stop to Baskin Robbins). For the last few years of his life, he was a faithful member of Southview Baptist Church in Rosharon.

Clarence passed away November 30, 2021, in New Braunfels, Texas, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Marilyn (2014) and his daughter Carol (1973). Left to cherish his memories are his son David and wife Cathy; granddaughter Alyssa Yarrington and husband Ryan; grandson Jeremy Johns; great granddaughter Emery Yarrington; brother Kenneth Johns and wife Patricia; and a host of loving family and friends.

He will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Scott's Funeral Home, Alvin, TX
