Christopher Ryan Kocurek, age 35 of Manvel, Texas, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at his home. Chris was born August 1, 1991, in Richmond, Texas, and was a resident of Manvel for the last 22 years, formerly of Willis, Texas. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ellie Johnson, Raymond Kocurek, and Evelyn Kocurek.

Chris was a kind soul, a gentle giant, and a fun-loving guy who was deeply loved by those who knew him. His daughter, Melissa, meant the world to him, and the love he had for her and for his family was immeasurable. Chris also treasured his friendships and the community he found through gaming. He formed meaningful bonds with people near and far, and those friendships held a special place in his heart. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, his sense of humor, and the love he had for the people in his life.

Chris is survived by his daughter, Melissa Kocurek; mother, Anita Kelley and husband Jerry; sister, Adrienne Kelley; father, Gary Kocurek; grandfather, Mike Johnson; along with several beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Scott Funeral Home.
