Charles Abschneider, age 100 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023 in Webster, Tx.  Charles was born on January 27, 1923 in Columbus, Texas and was a resident of Alvin, Texas for over 70 years.  He worked for over 37 years and retired from Phillips 66 and was a member of St. John's Catholic church in Alvin, Tx. and was a member of Knights of Columbus. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII as a combat engineer.  He enjoyed the outdoors with his pecan trees and gardening.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Andela Abschneider, sisters, Frances, Agnes, Janie, brothers, James, Joe, George.

Charles is survived by his wife, Helen Abschneider of 74 years, daughters, Barbara Williams and husband James, Debra Vasek and husband Gary, 3 grandchildren, Brain Williams and wife Laura, Jason Williams, Aric Vasek and wife Stella, 5 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Nichol, Trey, Kailee and Trent Williams, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Texas with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 1:30 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin, Texas.  Interment will follow in the Resurrection cemetery in Pearland, Tx.
