Cathryn Elaine Kulhanek December 3, 1940 – December 1, 2024

Cathryn Elaine Kulhanek, born on December 3, 1940, in Alta Loma, Texas, to Annie and Charles Flora, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024 at Evening Star Personal Care Home, in Alvin Texas, leaving a void in our family that cannot be filled.

Cathryn's life was filled with love, adventure, and a passion for creating beautiful spaces.

She loved traveling and was always planning her next trip with friends and family. Her adventurous spirit took her to many wonderful places, creating cherished memories along the way. One of her greatest joys was decorating her home, and she took immense pride in being part of the ACC Christmas Home Tour, where her beautifully decorated home was featured twice.

Cathryn is preceded in death by her parents, Annie H. Flora and Charles Adron Flora, as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents.

She is survived by her loving family: Daughter Debbie Shelton and her husband Dennis; Daughter Susan Carlisle; Son Randy Kulhanek and his wife Susan; Son Craig Kulhanek and his wife Melissa. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Dennis James Shelton II, Shaun Abbasi, Diana Shelton, Cody Kulhanek, and Matheau Kulhanek, as well as her great-grandchildren Skyler Abbasi and Gideon James Wailes. Cathy will also be deeply missed by her sister Carolyn Scopel and numerous close personal friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Evening Star Personal Care Home for the love and dedication with which they cared for Cathryn over the last three years.

Cathryn's legacy of love, warmth, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her dedication to family and friends, and her beautiful, welcoming home.

A visitation will be held at Scott Funeral Home Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM, with a funeral service beginning at 3:00 PM. Interment will be held at Confederate Cemetery following the services.
