Carl Milton Corona, age 75 of Alvin, Texas, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at his home surrounded by family.

Carl was born on December 24, 1946 and was Catholic by faith. A lifetime resident of Alvin, Carl graduated from Alvin High-School '65 and attended Sam Houston State University where he studied history and later attended The University of Houston. In his early career he helped establish Academy Sports and Outdoors as one of the premier sporting goods stores in Texas. After a successful career at J.A.M Distributing, Carl retired in 2016 from his role as the Manager of the Equipment Division.

Carl met his forever love, Carol and they were married at their home in Alvin in 1980. He had a love for the outdoors and nature that surrounded his home. Fishing, hunting and later bird watching were among some of his favorite hobbies. He was gifted in the ability to build and fix just about anything. He enjoyed wrenching on jeeps and dune buggies and racing his Chevy Impala and Buick Gran Sport.

Nothing meant more to Carl than his love for family, a value that was deeply rooted from his father. His generosity and warmth made everyone feel welcome to his home; whether it was their first time visiting or they had been guests many times before. The annual 4 ^th of July party and Christmas were his favorite times of the year to celebrate and bring together family and friends.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mary Corona and his sister Kathryn "Kitty" Payne. Carl is survived by his wife, Carol Corona, daughters, Keely Corona, Kim Perry and husband Scott, sons, Matthew Corona, Brad Corona and wife Megan, Nathan Corona and wife Alyssa, sister, Willie May Freeman and husband Kim, 5 grandchildren, Kierstin, Shea and husband Chris, Abbey, Alexis, Jayce, 3 great-grandchildren, Cherish, Hayden and Waylon, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 PM at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Texas.
