Bruce Lee Johnson, age 63 of Alvin, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Bruce was born August 2, 1958, in Jonesboro, Tennessee and was a resident of Alvin for over 20 years. Bruce is preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Johnson.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Katherine Johnson; son Nick Johnson; daughter Rachel Johnson; grandchild Kali Jane Johnson; in-laws Bobby and Sue Armstrong.

Bruce was born and raised in Tennessee. During his years in school he earned his Eagle Scout which was one of his life accomplishments.  He went into the army at 17 years old and was stationed in Korea.  The army is where he learned his love of helicopters.  He was sent to training to become a UH-1 Helicopter Repairman.

Bruce moved to Tulsa, Ok and attended and graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics where he received his A & P license with a helicopter specialty.  Bruce was especially proud receiving his IA certification.  Tulsa is also where he met and married his wife, Katherine.

Later Bruce went on to work overseas as a contractor in Kuwait, Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan at different military bases.  He spent 8 years overseas.

After retiring, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends out at the Chocolate House on the bayou.  Bruce loved being on his boat fishing and resting in the sun.

A visitation will be Thursday, January 27, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Scott Funeral Home with a service starting at 10:00 AM.
