Robert "Brad" Richards, age 77 a longtime resident of Alvin, Texas, passed away peacefully at UTMB/Clear Lake Hospital surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 13, 2025. He was born on June 20, 1947 to Robert Richards, Sr. and Pauline Richards in Knoxville, Tennessee. Brad was a very beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was also a wonderful and steadfast friend who will be dearly missed.

Brad was very involved in the local community as the 40-year owner of Brad's Muffler shop, former Alvin city councilman for 9 years, member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Committee for 12 years, and as a 32nd Degree Scottish Right from Grand Lodge in Galveston, Texas and home lodge of Alvin Masonic Lodge #762. Besides Brad's civic involvement, he also had many varied interests. Brad loved to rebuild classic cars and then show them in local car shows, including Houston's annual Auto Rama. Brad also enjoyed not only attending car shows as a participant, but also as a spectator or as a judge.

Brad loved taking his wife, Linda, "Cruising" and participating in "Rod Runs" and BBQ cookoffs. He and Linda loved to go camping and would often go with their son Brandon and his family. Although Brad had many hobbies and interest his favorite thing above all else was spending time with his family. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his wife, children, grand and great grandchildren. His family was his very reason of being.

Brad is preceded in death by his children, daughter, Bess Ann Richards, son, Robert "Brandon" Richards both of Alvin, Texas; parents, Robert B. Richards Sr. and Pauline Richards; brother, Ronald Richards.

Brad is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Richards; grandchildren, James Seals, Tyler Seals, Sydnie Richards and Blake Richards, all of Alvin, Texas; along with 9 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and cherished friends.

The Richard's family will greet family and friends from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM Friday, April 25, 2025 with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 6:00 PM at Scott Funeral Home.
