Billy Hugh Bitner

January 1, 1930 – April 28, 2026

Billy Bitner age 96, a long-time resident of Alvin, Texas entered into the presence of the Lord on April 28, 2026 at Laurel Court Alvin, under IPH Hospice care. He was born in Lovelady, Texas. He met and married the love of his life Iva Morris and married in 1953. They were married for 49 years until her death in 2003. They lived in Houston, Texas and moved to Alvin in 1969.

He served his country in the 101st Airborne Division from 1951 until 1953. He retired from Goodyear Chemical Plant after 44 years of service. He loved to hunt, especially with his sons and grandsons. Family was so important to him, his faith in Jesus Christ was even more important to him and lived his life as a true believer in his Savior.

Billy is preceded in death by his wife Iva Morris Bitner, son Billy Darwin Bitner, great granddaughter Emily Bitner, sister Betty Smith, brother Jimmy Bitner, mother Lena Bitner and father Hugh Bitner.

Billy is survived by his son Daryl Bitner (wife Teresa), son Bert Bitner (wife Denise), daughter Darla Armstrong (husband Daniel), daughter-in-law Judy Bitner. Grandchildren, Shandar Hobbs (husband Travis), Sherrice McIntosh (husband Josh), Zachary Armstrong (wife Hona), Tiffany Crook (husband Beau), Brittany Ringo (husband Robert), Darrin Bitner (wife Sally), Stacey Bitner, Jarrod Bitner (wife Sheryl), Jeremy Bitner (wife Jenna), Alexandra Kober (husband Jordan) Adam Bitner, Joseph Bitner (wife Lauree), Abigail Tullos (husband Ridge) and 26 great grandchildren and sister-in-law Linda Bitner.

The family wants to especially thank our brother Bert and wife Denise for taking such great care of our Dad for the last 4.5 years. We cannot express enough gratitude for all the love and dedication that you both took to make Dad's last few years here on earth the best ever possible. The family would like to thank the IPH Hospice Care Group and Laurel Court for providing the best care for him the last two weeks of his life.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 8, 2026 at Scott Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. to 2 P.M. The funeral service will follow at 2 P.M.
