W.A.(Bill) (Pop) Strickland

Loving husband, father and Pop went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2022.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Gail; his beloved children, Mark Strickland and wife Terrianne, Starla Crawford and husband David, and Carlos Fuste.

His beloved grandchildren Kayla Dodson and husband Chad, Hannah Tonche and husband Trace, Markaye Huntress and husband Jon, Lorianne Strickland and Ryan Temple, Aiden Fuste and Rique Fuste. and 10 great grandchildren. Bill was born in Goldonna, Louisiana. He worked for Monsanto Chemical Company Chocolate Bayou and retired after 32 years. He enjoyed many life-long friendships with people from the company. Bill and Gail were blessed to be able to travel and enjoyed collecting many antiques throughout the years. Bill loved antique furniture, especially clocks. He also had a love for antique oil, gas and automobile signs. But, his favorite collection was probably his antique cars. He was a member of the Greater Houston Model A Ford Club, Bluebonnet Antique Tractor Club and the Salt Grass Antique Club. He was a director of the Pate Swap meet for 20 years. He was also a member of Angleton First Church.

He was so proud of having the opportunity to serve as Mayor for the city of Liverpool for the last

13 years. He was proud of the City Council members, City Staff, Police and Fire Department, who always put the needs of the citizens of the community first. He loved that the Liverpool Town Hall Committee planned free events for the community each year. Such as, the Easter Egg and Cookie Decorating Event, the city-wide garage sale, the 4th of July parade and picnic with a parade featuring many antique cars and tractors and all other kinds of rides all throwing candy to the crowd. Afterwards the community was served a free lunch at the pavilion. At Christmas, there is fire truck parade bringing Santa and Mrs. Claus to City Hall where families could enjoy treats and each child receives a stocking and a gift.

He was so proud of the Liverpool Food Pantry that helps families in the community. Bill made it his

Mission in life to be available to help others.

A memorial service will be held at Angleton First Church at 329 N. Anderson St., Angleton Texas 77515 on March 2, 2022. 10:00 – 11:00 Visitation with the service starting at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in his name to the Liverpool Food Pantry.
