Elizabeth (Betty) Jeanette Knape, age 93, of Alvin, Texas passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022 while visiting her daughter in Yoakum, Texas. Betty was born December 5, 1928 in Danbury, Texas and was a longtime resident of Alvin. She was a proud member of Alvin's agriculture community working alongside her husband, Harrel, in the dairy business and feed business all the while being a proud mother of six and a devout Catholic. Betty was a past member of St. John's Catholic Church and current member of the Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Dickinson, Texas.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Harrel Knape; parents, William and Annette LeCompte; sons Gary Knape and Larry Knape; brothers, David LeCompte and Eugene LeCompte.

Betty is survived by her daughters Teresa Elaine Axelson and husband Ken, Judy Kubena and husband E.J.; sons Gregg Knape and wife Cheryl, Andy Knape and wife Roxann; sisters, Rose Phillips and Alice Pratt; brothers, Raymond LeCompte, William LeCompte and Roy LeCompte; 12 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

The Knape family would like to thank Kendra Knape Ward and Vantage Hospice for all of their kindness, care and support of Betty during her time of need.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Monday, March 7, 2022 at Scott Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Dickinson, Texas. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
