Bertha Rangel, age 89 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her family.  Bertha was born on September 27, 1936 in Mexico and was a resident of Alvin, Texas for over 47 years.  She retired from Alvin I.S.D. and was Christian by faith.  Bertha was preceded in death by her husband Jose Rangel, parents, Jose and Carmen Veloz, granddaughter, Sara Lujan, Nadia Lujan-Ybarra.

Bertha is survived by her daughter, Petra Lujan, 4 grandchildren, Arturo, Jr., Edna, Gabriel, 11 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Kimberly, Daniel, Julissa, Valarie, Ivana, Gianluca, Sara, Alfredo, Luciana, Isaac, and 1 great- great-grandchild, Abraham, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 22, 2026 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Texas with funeral services beginning at 12:00 PM.  Interment will follow in the Confederate Cemetery.
