On November 2, 1942 a baby was born to Clarence & Maggie Owens. He was raised with four siblings: Clarence Owens (preceded in death), Carl Owens (preceded in death), Creasie Owens & Emma Thornton.

During his childhood years, he was raised in Spanish Camp, Texas, where he accepted Christ at an early age at Rising Star Baptist Church.

He attended T.L. Pink High School, first through twelfth grade where he was a member of the football team.

After graduation he moved to Alvin, Texas and became a member of Greater New Hope Baptist Church. He was a faithful and dedicated member of the Usher Board for many years until his health failed. He was employee of Altair Strickland for many years.

He leaves to mourn his death, his children: Ardley Owens Jr., Doris Hunter (preceded in death), Sheryl Johnson, John Mayberry, and Sharon Lemon Allen; Sisters: Creasie Owens (Carl), Emma Thornton (Robert) , Margaret Faye (Thurman); Sheila Owens, Twelve grandchildren, Fourteen great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one God Sister: Lou Richardson and one God Brother: Pastor Donald Archie.
