Antonia Rueda, age 89 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026 at her home with her family by her side.  Antonia was born June 13, 1936 in Mexico and was a resident of Alvin for the last 16 years. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Antonia is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Rueda-Martinez; parents, Hipolito and Amalia Soto; sisters, Ciria Soto and San Juana Soto; brothers, Agustin Soto and Albertano Soto.

Antonia is survived by her daughters, Antonia Torres and husband Jose, Martha Garcia and husband Jose; sons, Jose Rueda Sr. and wife Martha, Baudelio Rueda and wife Mary Lou, Egido Rueda and wife Maria Luisa; sister, Santiaga Soto; brother, Magarito Soto; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Scott Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Friday, February 27, 2026 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin.
