Alton Gayle Rogers, age 95 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024.  Alton was born January 10, 1929, in Houston, Texas, and before moving to Alvin was a resident of Manvel, Texas for 50 years. Alton was a veteran during the Korean war and served in both the Army and Air Force. After the service he worked for the Houston Health Department. Once retiring from there he worked at the Brazoria Health Department. Alton enjoyed talking and spending time with people. Every morning, he would drive down to "The Annex" in Manvel and have coffee with his friends. Alton is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Hazel Rogers; sister Betty Bennett; brothers James Rogers, Bing Rogers, Gary Rogers, and Johnny Rogers.

Alton is survived by his wife Ladene Rogers; daughters Mary Talbot and husband Tom, Diane Salzman, and Catharine Wood; Alton G. Rogers Jr. and wife Becky, Eugene Rogers and wife Raydene, John Rogers; sister Janet Baker; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, February 9, 2024, at Scott Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Scott Funeral Home, with an interment at Manvel Cemetery following the services.
