Alfred V. Escobar, age 91, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Richard A. Anderson State Veterans Home in Houston, Texas. Alfred was born September 10, 1933, in Corpus Christi, Texas and had divided his time between Texas and Michigan. After joining the Marine Corps, and serving during the Korean war, he worked for 33 years at General Motors.

In the 80's he traveled to Argentina supporting a church group building homes; he sang in the local church choir and was a firm believer in God. Alfred was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Evelina "Abby", as well as his grandson A.J. Alfred cared for and supported his wife for 13 years during her illness.

Alfred is survived by his daughters, Amanda (Lutz) Gilke, Angela (Art) Fernandez, sons, Paul Escobar, Rudy (Hilda) Escobar, Mario (Pam) Escobar, grandchildren, Angela, Marina, Jonathan, JR, Isaac, Dove, Andrew and Nathan, along with numerous great grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

Our family wishes to thank the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Richard A. Anderson staff who cared for and supported Alfred throughout his last years.

In honor of Alfred Escobar a memorial service will be held at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, TX on Monday April 7 at 11:00 am. Immediately following the memorial will be the burial of ashes at the Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
