Our hearts are heavy with the unexpected and tragic loss of loving couple Chuck and Jace Benefield on Saturday night, May 4, 2013 near Liverpool, Texas. Charles H. Benefield was born July 25, 1971 at Fort Polk in Leesville, Louisiana to father, SFC Jack W. Benefield and mother, Nancy Willis Benefield. Chuck attended school in Alvin and San Antonio, and attended college at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX. He was a veteran in the 101st Airborne Air Assault.
Chuck is preceded in death by his father, and survived by his mother, his son, Gabriel Warren Benefield, his brother, Mark Benefield and sister-in-law Lori Benefield, his brother, Jack Benefield, Jr., and his sister, Deborah Ramirez and brother-in-law Marshall Ramirez. Family and friends will remember him as a soft hearted yet strong willed man, a proud American who loved his entire family very deeply and would protect them to no end. His affectionate, playful, and sometimes mischievous personality was contagious to those around him – he had many friends, and the only strangers he knew were those who posed a threat to anyone he loved.
Jace Renae Friedenbach Benefield was born November 2, 1973 to father, David James Friedenbach and mother, Bonnie Ulrich Thibodaux in Angleton, TX. Jace also attended school in Alvin, and attended college at Alvin Community College. She is preceded in death by her father, and survived by her mother, her step-father, Dean Thibodaux, her children, Christen Jeanne and Michael James Gerber, brothers, Jeremiah and JoshuaFriedenbach, sister, Jaime Friedenbach Slack and brother-in-law Bobby Slack, sisters, Jacqueline and Jocelyn Thibodaux, grandparents, Mary Jo and Guy Thibodaux, and nephews, Brage and Cohen Slack. Family and friends will remember Jace as whole-hearted and generous, a woman of many interests and talents, most notably the creativity and artistic ability that she shared with her father. She was a free-spirited, slightly rebellious individual who was independent in nature, but had an overwhelming love for her family and friends. The bond that Jace held with her family was unique to each member, yet equally as resilient.
Chuck and Jace shared a long history of friendship and were married to each other on March 14th, 2008. Their passion and adoration for one another was unparalleled. They shared a strong love of family, both immediate and extended. The joined interest that Chuck and Jace had for motorcycles largely increased the size of their family, as they both always considered members of their club and other close friends to be their own brothers and sisters. They were always by one another’s side, and although our grief is doubled by the loss of them both, it seems appropriate that they would go together, holding each other tightly, doing what they loved most.
