Ruby Lubojacky, age 85 of Alvin, Texas passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at Kozy Korner, Alvin, Texas. Ruby was born on April 25, 1927 in Richmond, Texas and was a lifetime resident of Alvin. She was a member of Alvin Lutheran Church and was very involved in her church activities. Ruby volunteered with delivering Meals on Wheels and working at the clothing outlet at the Presbyterian Church.

Ruby worked numerous years at the Alvin Independent School District as a cafeteria worker; she worked at Stanton’s Grocery in the produce department, and also worked for Slavonic Insurance.

She enjoyed gardening and canning, sewing, cooking, traveling, camping and fishing.

She was lovingly called MaMaw, MiMi and GG by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lubojacky; parents, Johnnie and Bertha Miller; sisters, Blanche Bennett, Sophie Miller, Winnie Choate, Tillie Murphy, Ida Belle Bauer, Mabel Nesteupa; brothers, E.J. Miller and Albert Hluchan.

Ruby is survived by her daughters, Sherree Lostracco and husband, Dale; Linda Mau and husband, Leroy; 4 grandchildren, Brian Knight and wife, Amy; Robert Mau and wife, Suzie; Randy Mau, Rachel Pettett and husband, Glen; 4 great-grandchildren, Abby Knight, Cody Knight, Aiden Pettett, Lyndsay Mavis, numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were: Brian Knight, Robert Mau, Randy Mau, Donald Bennett, David Lubojacky and Alfred Jez.

The family would like to thank the staff of Kozy Korner and the staff of Harbor Hospice, especially Nurse Lisa for their loving care. Ruby enjoyed spending time with the staff teaching them how to play dominoes.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Scott Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 8, 2013 at Alvin Lutheran Church, 1800 Rosharon Road, Alvin, Texas, Pastor Liz Stein officating. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery, Alvin, Texas 77511. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to Alvin Lutheran Church Building Fund.
